A baroque style woman sits/kneels and pours water from a gold ewer into a shell-shaped basin. The large folds of her drapery with angular areas of light and dark as well as the typical profile portrait indicate a painting style leaning toward the baroque movement. To her right, a jackdaw with outstretched wings sits on a circular table with one of its talons resting on the rim of the basis. A 1949 inventory indicates that this painting once hung in the Music Room.
