Enchanting gardens await your discovery at Middle Georgia’s premier garden event! Now in its 27th year, Spring Stroll Tour of Gardens features some of Macon’s most spectacular private gardens.

Enjoy a fun-filled weekend of all things gardening!

Spring Stroll Tour of Gardens

SATURDAY-SUNDAY, APRIL 30-MAY 1

Saturday Tour hours 10 am – 5 pm

Sunday Tour hours Noon – 5 pm

Saturday and Sunday are filled with tours of some of Macon’s most awe-inspiring gardens in the College Hill neighborhood. You’ll also enjoy three lectures from gardening experts, including historian James Barfield, container gardening expert Laura Tuck, and Matthew Israel, camellia expert and executive director of Massee Lane Gardens.

Price: Purchase the Spring Stroll Ticket Bundle for $65 (includes Spring Stroll Tour of Gardens ticket and all three lectures at Hay House —a savings of $10!) or $45 for Garden Tour only.

Saturday, April 30, 10 a.m.

Jim Barfield – Notable Gardeners from Macon’s Past
James Everett Barfield, Jr. is a local historian. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Mercer University and Georgia College and State University, he taught history in Bibb County for thirty years. Involved early in Macon’s historic preservation movement, he also has been involved with the Hay House for more than forty years. He has led rambles in Rose Hill Cemetery since 1990 and lectures frequently about Macon history and gardens.


Saturday, April 30, 2 p.m.

Laura Tuck – A How-To on Container Gardening
Laura Tuck is the owner of Potted Elegance, home to unique and one-of-a-kind container plantings, for seasonal enjoyment, as well as annual color, and landscape design.


Sunday, May 1, 2 p.m.

Matthew Israel – Camellias
Matthew Israel is the executive director of Massee Lane Gardens, the botanical garden headquarters of the American Camellia Society, an International Garden of Excellence, and a Georgia Camellia Trail garden. Located in Fort Valley, Georgia, Massee Lane Gardens is home to one of the world’s finest camellia collections.
