SUMMARY:Architecture Detective Summer Camp
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an engaging one-week day camp at the Johnston-Felton-Hay House\, designed for children ages 9-12 who have a curiosity about history and preservation! Campers will explore Macon’s architectural heritage\, learning about different styles and the significance of preserving historical structures. \nHighlights of the camp include: \n\nA van tour with Visit Macon\, tracing the area’s history from its earliest settlements at the site of what is now Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park.\nHands-on learning about architectural and painting finishes.\nA creative experience at Historic Macon’s Second Street workshop\, where campers will discover and design their own projects.\n\nBy the end of the week\, participants will have a deeper appreciation for how the past shapes our present and why it’s essential to preserve it for future generations. \nRates and Payment: Fee is $185.
